New Jersey native, Linda Loeschen, received her art training at Parsons School of Design in New York City. A life changing incident opened the door for her to fulfill a fantasy of moving to the Rocky Mountains. The mountains, beauty and outdoor lifestyle captured her heart, as well as the cowboy who became her husband.
She started painting his work shirt hanging on the fencepost, then his old cowboy boots and hats. Soon, Linda traveled to rodeos and cowboy events in search of new material.
Loeschen is honored to have been invited to show her work in prestigious shows such as “The Russell”, Great Falls, MT. “ The Night of Artists”, San Antonio, TX. “The Mountain Oyster Club”, Tucson, AZ. “The Phippen Museum Miniature Masterpieces”, Prescott, AZ, “The Colorado Governor’s Show”, Loveland, CO and “The Cowgirl Up Show”, Wickenburg, AZ where she won the Artists Choice Award.
She was also awarded the Best of Show and Best Watercolor at the “San Dimas Festival of Western Art” , San Dimas, CA.
Linda was the poster artist for the “Durango Cowboy Gathering”, Telluride’s Wild West Fest, “Snowmass Village Rodeo” in Colorado. Also the poster artist for the “Northern International Livestock Exposition, Billings, MT. and the “Single Action Shooters Society, Norco, CA.
Loeschen is a signature member of the “Western Artists of America” and the “American Women Artists”.
Her work is in several art publications and adorns the cover of the coffee table art book “Art of the American West”.
