Great Year!

With our gratitude for our customers and friends, we have just set a new record for business in the gallery!  Feedback indicates the remodeling and new artwork, gifts, and jewelry have made a big difference for the Redstone Art Gallery.  We are humbled by the experience of the past two years, working to create the finest collection of Colorado and other regional artwork.  Our business is growing and we are thankful to our guests, customers, and friends who continue to support this collection.

Renovations Completed

We have completed a major renovation to the main gallery as of May 2014, with new lighting, floors, walls, and many new artists.  The main space is much more open and inviting and the lighting creates a more enjoyable experience with the art.  We are proud to represent so many fine artists in our gallery, with new fine wood workers joining us this year.  The diversity of media and artists makes one of the finest collections in Colorado, certainly in the Roaring Fork and Crystal Valley.  Many of our our artists are local to the Western Slope, but many are from the Front Range and beyond as well.  Come and experience the charm of Redstone and the fine art and gifts in the new Redstone Art Gallery!

Springtime Preparation

It is now early April, and we had a busy March painting the main gallery rooms, and adding many new artists to our collection.  We have wonderful sitting and reading areas for perusing the art books and magazines that relate to our artists and their work, and the areas around Redstone to explore.  When you enter the gallery now, you will see many of the artists' work displayed in new ways, with a much better flow to the gallery space.  We have integrated a number of new artists into the space with attention to how they work with the other artists' style and palettes, as well as the subject matter that is the beauty of the area surrounding Redstone.

It is now time for us to start cleaning the grounds and preparing for spring and summer, and our busy schedule of classes, workshops, and demonstrations.  Stop by and learn about our new artists, many of them from the valley area, but also from other parts of the country.  We look forward to full and active Spring and Summer seasons!

Renovation has begun.

It has been a busy 6 months, as we have begun renovating and redecorating the gallery.  Stephanie has been busy working with existing and new artists to find the right placement and display for our various artworks, while Michael has been repairing and painting walls.  We had the shake roof, which was both a fire hazard and potential water hazard, replaced with a metal roof to match the newer part of the structure.  We also added snow stops to the roof to keep ice and snow from falling onto our friends and neighbors!  The workroom studio is clean and nearly ready for its new purpose as a multi-media workshop and demonstration area, which will include wood working, glass blowing, pottery and ceramics.  It still needs a good power washing in preparation for new paint, but that will have to wait for warmer weather.  You may have noticed the Red '81 Toyota FJ 40 Land Cruiser out front, with signage for the center keeping us readily identified, which we will be using in summer months for field trips to Lead King Basin and the Crystal Mill for those interested in tours or workshops in the field.
We've had a Pot Luck Dinner and Charity Auction for the Sandy Hook School, and are hosting a Soup Night after the Snow Shoe Races on Feb 2.  We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year in the Crystal Valley, and look forward to traditions we will continue from the past, and new traditions we are initiating.
Hoping to see you at the Snow Shoe Races!

Thank you!

As Stephanie and I begin this adventure in life with you, the Redstone Art Center community of artists, patrons, and friends, we want to thank you for your overwhelming support and friendship.  We have been blessed by many of you who have helped physically (moving furniture and sculptures, and garden rocks!), emotionally with your encouragement, and artistically with your contributions in art for the gallery.  We look forward to many years of prosperous business, fun and laughter, and community involvement.
