Historic architecture, as well as the beauty of the western landscape, inspire me to paint. I strive to preserve the images and serenity of Colorado, where my family has lived and worked since 1859. Having developed a unique recognizable style, I focus on strong composition, high contrast, and distinctive detail, all with a limited palette.
Having graduated from the University of Colorado with a minor in fine arts, I have continued to be inspired by numerous well know artists. I receive my strongest support from my husband, Kent, as we travel and record inspirational images throughout Colorado and the West.
Being a co-owner of the Georgetown Gallery for over twenty-five years has allowed me to meet my worldwide collectors. I have received many awards in local, regional and national shows for over forty years.
Having retired from teaching in Jefferson County Schools, I now have more time to paint and explore new ideas.
High quality, permanent watercolor on 400 lb Arches rough paper are my major tools. Occasionally my work is reproduced as high quality limited edition giclee's.
